.Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide a general overview of the origins and development of a new geographical orientation which, under the general label of perceptual and behavioural geography, has made possible the creation of a shared space bridging psychology and geography. Within this orientation, the main elements incorporated from various psychological fields are identified, as well as the most consolidated lines of research and their specific areas of study.
