.Abstract
The term behavioural medicine refers to psychological procedures based on experimental analysis of behaviour (EAB) that are applied to the modification and understanding of behaviours directly or indirectly affecting physical health (Miller, 1983; Pomerleau, 1979; Pomerleau & Brady, 1979).
This article reviews the brief history of this emerging field, examines its key concepts and limitations, and discusses the development of its most representative activity within this new area of application and research.
