The Psychopedagogical Office and the Social Work Unit of La Algaba

Abstract

In this article, we aim to explain the school-based origin of the Municipal Psychopedagogical Office of La Algaba and its evolution into a grassroots team with social dimensions. We also intend to describe the peculiarities of its internal functioning: how decisions are made, how responsibilities are distributed, and the advantages and disadvantages this entails. The final section presents our vision of the future and possible alternatives to current challenges regarding employment dependency, the funding system, and the type of intervention.
