.Abstract
This paper briefly outlines the main characteristics of the development of prosociality (the orientation toward acting for the benefit of others). It then presents the most relevant findings from studies that have examined the relationship between prosocial behavior and moral reasoning with the socialization variables that appear to foster their development. Finally, it discusses some educational implications that can be drawn from the studies presented.
