.Abstract
This paper offers an overview of rehabilitation that includes a theoretical starting point (the vulnerability–stress model of Zubin and Spring) and a reflection on psychosocial rehabilitation work with chronic psychotic patients within the framework of the Andalusian psychiatric reform. It highlights the key role of district mental health teams in the planning of rehabilitation programmes and strategies, and the supporting function of area rehabilitation units.
