Abstract

The inclusion of a positive parenting approach in family support has translated into the stimulus of active and strengthening interventions, the recognition of diversity in parenting, as well as the assumption of institutional responsibilities in supporting families regarding their childrearing tasks. From both the political sphere and the academia, the current challenge is to guarantee that positive parenting initiatives meet the international quality standards for psychoeducational

programs. In this paper, both the positive parenting approach for supporting families and quality standards of evidence-based programs are described. The initiatives for enhancing positive parenting included in this monograph are also briefly introduced. The manuscript ends discussing future challenges in ensuring effective support of positive parenting.
