Occupational psychology

Abstract

This first Congress of the Official Association of Psychologists offered a unique opportunity for those of us who are in some way involved in organizational settings. Last year's congress had already established a technical and scientific foundation, and this new meeting offered us the possibility of designing, in a realistic way, an operational, scientific, and professional framework. Those of us on the Technical Committee who took on the responsibility of establishing channels for discussion and exchange did not hesitate to set as a general theme “the current situation and future prospects of Occupational Psychology”. That is, we needed to understand, analyse, and define our reality and professional identity.

We made an effort to channel the contributions to this fifth area and prepared a framework presentation to focus the debates with the necessary rigour to identify the core issues for discussion.
