Abstract

Dream analysis is a fundamental pillar of psychoanalysis, to which Freud remained consistently faithful, considering it an irreplaceable means of accessing the human unconscious. Recently, however, its use has declined considerably, particularly within the framework of brief dynamic psychotherapies. In any case, mastery of the psychology of dreaming is essential for all practitioners of psychoanalysis, in any of its variants.

With this brief work, in which we specifically address Freud’s main ideas on dreaming, we conclude our series on analytic technique.
