Abstract

Quite frequently, the topic of science versus technology as applied to our discipline is raised and debated by psychologists. Discussions focus on whether our work should be that of scientists or technicians, whether there is a basis for such a distinction, what it might mean, and the reasons why one should be considered over the other. Beyond these debates, and often independently of them, individual psychologists tend to personally align themselves with one of these fields, while feeling distant and different from others. This article addresses these and similar questions, aiming to show how a methodological perspective can be useful in reframing certain aspects of the topic.
