.Abstract
This paper presents an approach to a comprehensive new theoretical proposal: Emilio Ribes’ theory of behaviour. This theory responds to the eclecticism currently prevailing in psychology and offers an original conceptual framework aimed at resolving inconsistencies in a discipline marked by internal disagreements.
The article examines the theoretical evolution of Ribes, since understanding how his work develops and the types of influences it receives clarifies the meaning and significance of his conceptual proposal. In this context, the discussion focuses on Ribes’ critiques, from within behaviorism, of traditional conditioning theories and the alternative approaches he proposes, which shape his current theoretical position.
