The presence of mental disorders in people with intellectual disabilities is a topic increasingly present in research, as it directly affects their quality of life. The aim of this research was to describe the presence of psychopathological symptoms in a sample of people with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, and to analyse the differences according to the type of accommodation and pharmacological treatment. Participants were 57 intentionally selected adults with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. Sociodemographic data and the PAS-ADD and Mini PAS-ADD Inventories were collected. It was found that 5% of the participants presented psychopathological symptoms. Depressive symptomatology was the most frequently described. Differences according to the type of accommodation in the presence of symptoms were also found, but no differences were found according to whether they had been prescribed pharmacological treatment. It is considered necessary to analyze the presence of mental disorders in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the relationship between social and health factors, since they have a direct impact on the effectiveness of interventions and support, and thus on their quality of life.
